HMH Field Trips powered by Google Expeditions

As a Google® content partner, HMH has developed field trips for Google Expeditions. Using a simple Google Cardboard™ device and a smartphone, students are swept away into 3D, 360-degree experiences in fascinating locations, directly tied to science content! A Teacher Guide provides ideas for incorporating the Expeditions into your lessons, as well as tips on how to guide and customize the experience.

    Accessible to ALL Students

The accessibility of textbook features facilitates both conceptual and analytical skill development. The content is chunked and organized around main ideas. Strategic vocabulary is highlighted, critical-thinking questions help students dive deeper into concepts, and reading Check for Understanding questions are included to test student comprehension. Additionally, key formulas are highlighted to help students focus on the key parts of the formula, and the unknown variable in the sample problems is highlighted and color coded throughout the book helping students further focus on the problem solving process as they solve the practice problems.

    Differentiated Instruction Tools

Modern Chemistry® enables you to reach all learners by providing time-saving, easy-to-use resources to help you reach Below Level, English Learners, Pre-AP®, and Inclusion students. The Teacher Edition includes differentiated instruction and problem-solving support strategies. An Interactive Reader, available in English and Spanish, includes audio to help students of all abilities access the content.

    Problem-Solving Support

Problem solving is a struggle for nearly every student. That’s why Modern Chemistry includes tools such as videos, interactive online activities, Solution Tutor, and print resources to help students master the fundamentals of chemistry problem solving.

    Technology

Nothing captures students’ interest and facilitates meaningful learning like technology. Many highly effective technology learning tools are included with Modern Chemistry to accomplish just that. For example, the Why It Matters videos take the content of the chapter and relate it to everyday objects or situations that are familiar to students.

    Comprehensive Lab Resources

To meet the needs of any classroom, Modern Chemistry includes the most comprehensive lab resources with its wide variety of print and digital lab options, including virtual, STEM, and open-ended inquiry labs. The program also provides online resources to support your lab program. For example, the Smart Grapher is a powerful, easy-to-use graphing tool for creating a variety of graphs using student-collected data.
