Table of Contents
The Table of Contents lists the TABE® objective for each section of the book and its sub-skills. TABE Fundamentals books are broken into sections according to objective. Learners receive instruction on related skills at the same time.

These pages explain the TABE, provide a short description of each of the seven tests, and give students test-taking tips. These pages also highlight book and lesson structure and features, allowing adult learners to make use of the self-guided format.
To the Instructor Pages
These pages explain the TABE and its uses: Instructional, Administrative, and Governmental. They also outline the correlation between the TABE and National Reporting System (NRS) levels.

Reproducible Answer Sheets in each book, correlated to each individual review and performance assessment section, prepare students for the standardized test-taking experience.
Lessons
Lesson features in TABE Fundamentals are the same across all levels giving continuity to the product family and a familiar format to learners using the series.
Informal Introduction and Step-by-Step Instruction
Each lesson begins with an Informal Introduction of the target concept using language that learners can understand. During Step-by-Step Instruction, learners are led through each step of the solution process for one skill or concept being taught.
Independent Application
Each lesson features opportunities that allow learners to apply their new knowledge to a test example and to an independent practice problem.
TABE Objective Reviews
The TABE Review is a cumulative review that appears at the end of each objective and tests the learner's mastery of the target skills covered in that objective.
Performance Assessment
The Performance Assessment is a cumulative review of all objectives and skills covered in the book. This assessment has the same number of questions and formatting as the actual TABE and is intended to mimic the test-taking experience.
