Corporate Social Responsibility

HMH thrives on fostering passionate, curious learners among our customers, across our workforce, and throughout our global community.

Our Approach

HMH’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts focus on improving educational outcomes for PreK-12 students in underserved communities, as well as supporting initiatives to engage our employees and enabling them to make a positive impact in the communities where we live and work.

We take a holistic approach to our partnerships, investing cash, product, and employee talent, allowing for broader impact and deeper community relationships. In 2016, we donated nearly 1 million books to 244 organizations, volunteered over 9,000 hours in our communities, and supported more than 700 nonprofit organizations through our matching gifts and volunteerism programs. We continue to grow our investments in our home market of Boston and beyond, and look forward to expanding our impact in the years to come.
